Harry Potter

I just finished the final book of the Harry Potter series. I loved it. What a great series. It took me a while to finish the last book because I didn't want the series to end. I won't say too much in case you are still reading the last book or plan on reading the series. I highly, highly recommend it. I actually started reading the book again. The only book I've ever read twice was Crime and Punishment (and that's because I had it as an assignment in both high school and college). I started rereading book 1 last night and it was hard to put down. Again, I really recommend it if you haven't read it. It's an easy read and quite enjoyable.

I am sure that the Harry Potter series is good. I read and enjoyed the first book for the magical and fantastic world it creates. Nevertheless, if you want to read two books that 1) you won't be able to put down, and 2) will make you think about your life and the war in Afghanistan in ways you never did before, then I highly recommend The Kite Runner and The Thousand Splendid Suns. They are excellent--the best fiction I have read in a really long time, maybe the best fiction ever.

I loved it. I had it on preorder for like 6 months and I wsa going crazy when it hadn't arrived on the release date. I think I might follow your lead and read the whole all over again.

Pablo, definitely reread the Harry Potter series. Like I said before, I don't usually reread books, but I am glad I started this series again. What actually convinced me to reread the series was that once I finished the last book, I found a bunch of info on Wikipedia relating to the plot of the book. There were a few things I couldn't quite remember. Even as I first read the last book, I was having trouble remembering some of the stuff from previous books, but I couldn't put the book down to reread the previous ones. Enjoy!

Anonymous, I didn't realize those books took place in Afghanistan. My mom as also recommended them. I will read them. Thanks for the suggestion!
